Laguna Beach California is an ideal warm spring break destination for families

If you're looking for some beach time with your kids, head to Southern California beaches in Orange County for one of the best family getaways for spring break.

There's no shortage of options for families, from the beautiful beaches at Laguna Beach to the nearby L.A. amusement parks of Universal and Disneyland.

Florida Keys is one of our top family spring break spots

Whether you're looking for a relaxing day at the beach or snorkeling in the warm, shallow waters teeming with fish, there's plenty of fun in the Florida Keys for families on spring break. 

We loved renting a boat for the entire week and snorkeling around Coffin’s Patch and Sombrero Reef near the old lighthouse.

We also enjoyed fishing and hunting for lobsters near the Seven-Mile Bridge. Check to see if it’s lobster season and you might catch a fantastic seafood dinner!

Coral Lagoon Resort in Marathon Florida

Take your paddle boards out at Bahai Honda State Park and Sombrero beach. Or head down the road a bit to Curry Hammock State Park to explore among the mangroves for a close up look at one of Florida’s unique ecosystems.

We loved cruising in our boat rental to Burdine’s waterfront grill.

Cape San Blas Florida

Cape San Blas Florida is the best beach for families on spring break

If you're looking for a quiet place to relax with the kids and one of the best family getaways for spring break, head to Cape San Blas, Florida. 

This small town has some of the best beaches in the country, so you'll find plenty of space to enjoy the sun and sand. You can also take advantage of the nearby wildlife preserves and nature trails. 

You can have a fire on the beach at Cape San Blas

Cape San Blas is one of the most gorgeous, raw beaches in the US and our family favorite.

A long, quiet sliver of a peninsula along the Gulf of Mexico, Cape San Blas stretches out for 17 miles and is crowned at the tip with the beautiful St. Joseph Peninsula State Park, where you can explore bay side as well.

Our kids loves boogie boarding or body surfing the gulf side waves, flying a kite, fishing, kayaking, sailing, and soccer on the beach.

Then we’d ride our bikes to Coneheads for a cool treat.

Enjoy gorgeous sunsets at night, followed by roasting s’mores over a fire on the beach. 

You may be lucky enough to stumble upon bioluminescent algae on the shore under a starry night sky.

When you’ve had enough sun and fun on the beach in Cape San Blas, you’re just a short drive from nearby attractions and fabulous fresh seafood restaurants.

Cozumel Mexico

Cozumel Mexico is a great family spring break destination

If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, then Cozumel, Mexico might just be the perfect spring break spot for you and your family.

Located off the coast of mainland Mexico, Cozumel is an easy day trip from Cancun or Playa del Carmen.

We think there’s plenty of sun, beach, snorkeling, and fun in Cozumel, so skip Cancun and just park yourself here for a week.

One of America’s best national park family destinations for spring break, Zion has some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. Snap selfies among towering red rock formations, deep canyons, and lush green forests.

Canyoneering near Zion

Having visited twice, we dove into the heart of Zion by canyoneering slot canyons, hiking the Narrows, biking along the Virgin River and more. 

Nearby Bryce Canyon is often coupled with Zion in any season. Hop on Scenic Byway 12 for 72 miles from Zion to Bryce for a spectacular road trip with rewarding vistas and views. 

We tell families to spend at least three days in Zion. With day time temps in the low to mid 60s in March, hiking over spring break is ideal.

Angel Fire New Mexico

Ski in New Mexico! Angel Fire Resort is a fun family getaway for spring break

If you like Colorado skiing over spring break, but hate the long lift lines, head to Angel Fire, New Mexico.

Angel Fire resort offers outstanding Rocky Mountain skiing, making it one of the best spring break family destinations for those who like the POW!

The best snow in New Mexico, Angel Fire is only 45 minutes from Taos on the Enchanted Circle. 

Want to mix it up? Base yourself in Angel Fire, but take a day to ski Taos and in Red River too.

Families and outdoor enthusiasts alike love the short lift lines on the Chile Express and the Southwest Flyer.

Take a day to go tubing, snow shoeing or snowmobiling too. 

Just 3.5 hours from Colorado Springs, there are so many things to do in Angel Fire New Mexico year round. We loved our summer vacation there.

Isla Holbox Mexico

Get around Isla Holbox on a golf cart or bike

On Isla Holbox in Mexico, you’ll enjoy raw beaches, kite boarding, kayaking through mangroves and warm shallow waters on this unique spring break destinations for families.

Easily get around this island on golf carts and don’t forget to walk the town’s art mural tour. 

Isla Holbox is an island north of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula that is also part of the Yum Balam Nature Reserve, home to pelicans and flamingos! 

We flew into Cancun, took a short taxi drive and then hopped on a ferry to get there. Your golf cart taxi awaits to drive you the short distance to your resort.

On this family spring break vacation, you will have amazing opportunities to see sea turtles and colorful fish on a snorkeling excursion. Fishing, scuba diving, and sunset cruise tours are available too.

Colorado Springs

Ride zip lines over Seven Falls in Colorado Springs

Home to Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, the new Olympic and Paralympic Museum, a top national zoo, and access to all kinds of outdoor adventure in all seasons.

Colorado Springs, Colorado is a great family getaway for spring break when you want both outdoor adventure and city fun.

Head to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo - the highest zoo in America and kids love feeding the giraffes at eye level.

Garden of the Gods is one of the top things to do in Colorado Springs

We absolutely loved riding the thrilling zip lines over South Cheyenne Canyon’s Seven Falls. We soared high over the canyon through five zip lines!

The Royal Gorge also offers pure adrenaline rushes and is just an easy hour’s drive away.

Hiking trails abound all around Colorado Springs.

Add in famous Colorado breweries, dozens of yummy local restaurants all through the city, we can show your family all the things to do with kids in Colorado Springs.

As a local family, this is a great spring break spot that is easily reached by car for so many.

Ambergris Caye Belize

Belize is a fabulous family destination for spring break

When you’re looking for a warm spring break destinations for family in another country, but without the jet-lag, the country of Belize is south of Cancun, Mexico and an excellent place to visit.

Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System lies only a half a mile off the winward side of the island. It is the longest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere and the second longest in the world.

Hop on a non-stop flight from Denver to Belize City. Then jump on a small plane for 15 minutes, landing you in San Pedro where you begin your adventure on the island of Ambergris Caye.

We went for the snorkeling and fishing along the Belize Barrier Reef and much needed rest on the beach.

We loved staying at Indigo Belize Beachfront Condos where we could kayak 5 minutes out to the reef for fantastic snorkeling.

We booked an all day private boat to take us snorkeling and fishing in the Bacalar Chico Marine and Wildlife Reserve at the northern tip of Ambergris Caye overlooking the Bay of Chetumal and Mexico. We were treated to a beach barbecue in the middle of the day. The kids loved it!

Mexico Rocks, Shark Ray Alley, and Hol Chan Marine Reserve are more colorful places for excellent snorkeling around Ambergris Caye.

We stayed in a Indigo Belize beachfront condo and loved the pool too

Have you heard of the Blue Hole Natural Monument? This gigantic underwater sinkhole is surrounded by a ring of coral found in the shallow waters of the Lighthouse Reef Atoll. A long day trip, the Blue Hole is best explored via scuba.

Add in horseback riding, sailing, and getting yourself around the island in golf cart and Belize is one of the most fun family spring break spot ideas.

While we spent our entire week on the island of Ambergris Caye, you’ll find zip line and cave tubing adventures in the jungle on the mainland, as well as ancient Mayan sites.

A friend raved about nearby Cocoa Beach Resort, which was completely booked over Christmas.

Big Cedar Resort on Table Rock Lake

This large sinkhole, known as Cathedral, is found at Big Cedar Lodge and Top of the Rock Golf Course, located a few miles south of Branson, Missouri.

This gorgeous lake destination nestled in the Ozark Mountain country offers tons of fun all year round.

We always loved going to nearby Dogwood Canyon for gorgeous hiking and biking.

Head to Branson’s 76 Country Boulevard one night for their famous live shows and family attractions.

Or spend a day at Silver Dollar City, an 1800s themed amusement park with live music, is always a big hit for families. Go shopping at the Branson Landing.

Our family always loved staying in Big Cedar’s Wilderness Club in a beautitful condo or upscale three bedroom cabin.
